Dr Aileen Ward

Clinical Psychologist & Founder of The Walden Clinic

Dr Aileen Ward is a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience working across NHS and private settings, supporting individuals and families with a wide range of emotional, psychological, and relational difficulties.

Aileen is passionate about creating a calm, compassionate therapeutic space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. She believes that therapy should be a collaborative process - tailored to each individual’s needs, goals, and values.

Her approach draws from a range of evidence-based psychological models, including:

- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)
- Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Aileen works with children, adolescents, and adults, and specialises in supporting clients who are navigating issues such as:

  • Anxiety and low mood
  • Self-esteem and body image
  • Parenting challenges and family dynamics
  • Grief and adjustment
  • Trauma and emotional regulation

As the founder of The Walden Clinic, Aileen is committed to offering a high standard of care delivered by accredited and experienced professionals. She values warmth, clarity, and collaboration in every aspect of the therapeutic journey.

Aileen is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Association of Clinical Psychologists (ACP).
